Anonymous asked: What kind of hair did you use for your kinky twists and how did you get your ends to curl up like that?
I used model model marley braid. To curl the ends, I used perm rods and very hot water.

FINALLY! A decent twist-out! It’s a miracle- every prior attempt has yielded a miserably unattractive result. Unfortunately, I separated the twists right before bed, so it won’t last to see daylight, but I was happy to see that I could actually achieve a wearable twist-out. It gives me hope for the summer and dreams of wilder, bigger hair.
The twists were in for approx. one week before I took them out. They were put in on freshly-drenched and detangled hair (not washed), and conditioned with a bit of Kinky-Curly Knot Today, a little bit of Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In, and a heavy application of a raw Shea Butter and Olive Oil whip.
My societal conscience is telling me that my hair needs a wash, but it seems pretty happy. Hopefully I can reproduce the results (without needing a week to set)!
epic afro - reaaching for the sky!
